Yoga Nidra/Guided Relaxation, also known as ‘effortless relaxation or yogic rest/sleep’, takes you on an inner journey of deep rest, nourishment, and relaxation. Unlike regular sleep, yoga nidra is an immersion into consciousness, giving it a lighter quality which is more restorative than regular sleep. What happens during this class, you say? Well, you lie on your floor or sit in a chair with cozy blankets and listen to a guided relaxation that guides you to unwind, simply be and let go. Who doesn’t want to feel like you had a short nap without the groggy feeling, or have some more energy without the caffeine crash, or have a more peaceful mind?
Yoga Nidra helps your unconscious open to new ways of thinking, healing, and fulfilling your conscious intentions. This practice helps to connect you to new sources of energy by allowing yourself time to simply be, unwind and let go of stress.
This series will focus on poses and yoga themes to help you relax, unwind and sleep better.
This is a slower-paced yoga, utilizing props that meet your body where it is at, and makes yoga accessible to everyone.
Bring your stresses, aches, tiredness and stuff with you! You'll experience the difference in your first class. It's easy to tell the difference when you feel so much better - and without the sweat! This style of yoga is suitable for most anybody and every body.
****Contraindications: (Cautions: Persons on immune-suppressant drugs who have had organ transplants may NOT do Therapeutic Spinal Release Yoga or Shavasana Yoga Therapy as it could destabilize their medical condition. )
****You must be able to get up and down off of the floor on your own for the Spinal Release Yoga Classes. It is slow paced but most of the poses are on the floor, in a chair or moving between the floor and chair.

If you don't have these props you can improvise... we'll be creative, but having the correct tools for the job makes it much more effective! 😉
