Meet Your Guide

Hello, I'm Nancy Nurmi.

I'm thrilled to welcome you to Blissitude Yoga!

A few things about me:

  • Yogi

  • forever student (I love learning)

  • avocado fiend

  • gardener

  • quilter & crafter

  • nature lover

  • home cooking & baking lover

  • cat lover

  • butterfly lover(my logo🦋)

  • INFJ, HSP, Intuitive, Empath

(Plus, I have a tendancy to use curse words and sometimes throw a few F bombs around so if you are sensitive to cursing you will not enjoy chatting with me. I keep it real).

My journey into the world of yoga and meditation began as a result of my own struggles with stress, anxiety, perfectionism, and the lingering effects of past experiences. I was tired of feeling tired, disconnected, and unable to find lasting relief from chronic physical discomfort. I tried various methods, like acupuncture to energy healing, but it was not until I stumbled upon Therapeutic Yoga Practices, Spinal Release Yoga (SRY) and Kundalini Yoga Practices that everything changed.

The first time I attended a SRY class, I experienced a profound inner shift and felt more in my body and connected to the earth (grounded). With consistent practice, my mind was less chaotic, I had more ease within myself both mind & body, I was more able to catch myself from going into 'painful emotion and thought loops' and I felt more energized and grounded (more safe). I remember driving home after my first time experiencing therapeutic yoga- someone cut me off and was really close to hitting my car and I just watched it happen and did not react. I simply said to myself, "huh...interesting". (This is so not what I would have done prior to this class. There would have been cursing, anxiety, anger,etc...). A very different response so I was intrigued.

Now after practicing this yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Self-Inquiry and Meditation for over 12+ years, I feel a deeper sense of peace, an ability to let go of misperceptions-stories of what and who I thought I was, and have I a newfound self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-compassion and self-love.

Some of my main issues that have changed for me are:

  • my constant discomfort of being in my body and the anxiety I felt on a daily basis has reduced tremendously

  • I am no longer tired of everything and everyone. I actually want to engage with life, with others.

  • these practices of Therapeutic Yoga supported me in coping with the symptoms of PTSD by helping me become more embodied, grounded, and calm amidst life's challenges ( or able to find calm-let's be real--some days are just F'N hard).

  • endometriosis symptoms reduced significantly.

  • the frequency of my migraines decreased substantially from 1 every month to 1 or 2 a year.

And, yes I still have challenges. To live in this human body is to go through the ups and downs of life and experience challenges. Life is change.

These transformative experiences ignited a passion within me to share these life-changing practices with others. As I delved deeper into yoga and meditation, I came to realize that my own journey was not about 'fixing' myself, but about reconnecting and remembering who I truly am.

My mission now is to guide and support women, especially those who are sensitive, overwhelmed, and seeking personal growth, to embark on a similar journey of self-nurture and empowerment with self-compassion, self-acceptance, self-appreciation and a sense of humor sprinkled with some F bombs for good measure. 😜

I know what it feels like to live with a sense of disconnection (I know weird word but I always felt uncomfortable in my own body and in this life- thus disconnected). I know how it feels to be unsure of how to slow down, or rest, and truly care for yourself. But I also know the power of these practices in nurturing the mind, body, heart and Soul/Self. Through my offerings, whether it's a guided meditation, a transformative Yoga Nidra experience, coaching, or nurturing therapeutic yoga, my intention is to create a safe and supportive space for you to reconnect with your true essence, reclaim your power, learn to be with what is as it is and embrace self-love just as you are.

With deep empathy, understanding, and a touch of f'n humor, I am committed to helping you find your way back home - home in your body, home in yourself. Let's embark on this beautiful journey of rediscovery and healing together. I'm here to walk beside you every step of the way."

With Love, Nancy Nurmi

I am not what has happened to me in the past. I have become empowered by my past experiences and am here to help others become empowered. Just like it says in The Wizard of Oz, "You've always had the power my dear, You just had to learn it for yourSelf". I would love to help you get your bliss on with Blissitude Yoga-Blissful Attitude Yoga. Nancy Nurmi

"Yoga practice is ultimately more a way of non doing than doing. It is more a way of undoing. It is doing less turning within letting go and surrendering. Yoga means discovering the healing essence that can draw us to a higher awareness naturally, in which we can let go of our stress, our anxiety, our negativity, our traumas, all these emotional factors that disturb us and keep us down. Inner yoga is that in which we move from activity to surrender and to cultivating the flow of grace."

Dr. David Frawley

"True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.”

Aadil Palkhivala

"People are afraid to expose themselves to life. But life begets life and love brings love. All that people require is love."

Rudi

"The heart is the hub of all sacred places. Go there and roam."
